SUWANEE, Ga.—Junior Bruce Maxwell has been named the SCAC Baseball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, March 5, through Sunday, March 11, the league office announced today.
Maxwell, a catcher/first baseman from Toney, Ala., helped BSC win all four of its games this week, all on the road. Against Millsaps on Wednesday he was 3-of-4 (including two doubles and a home run) with three RBI. In the series against Sewanee, he was 3-of-6 (including two doubles).
He hit .600 (6-of-10) for the week with a total of seven runs, three RBI, 13 total bases, and eight walks. Maxwell also posted a 1.300 slugging percentage and a .778 on-base percentage.
Maxwell and the 23rd-ranked Panthers are in action again this weekend on the road, facing Maryville College in a three-game series, Saturday and Sunday in Maryville, Tenn.
