BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Sophomore Taylor McCracken has been named the Southern Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Week for games played March 17-23, the league office announced today.
McCracken, an infielder from Oxford, Ala., helped the No. 15 Panthers go 5-1 this week, going 10-of-22 (.455) at the plate with a double and six RBI. He scored six runs and recorded 11 total bases with a .500 slugging percentage and .500 on-base percentage. McCracken also drew two walks and struck out only once. From his post at second base he had eight putouts and 17 assists with no errors for a perfect fielding percentage. Three of McCracken's games were multi-hit efforts, and his ninth-inning two-RBI single against Berry scored the game-winner in the rubber match to help BSC win the series on Sunday.
The Panthers are at home this Friday hosting Emory at 6 p.m.
