  • Winter And Spring All-Academic Honor Roll Announced

    ATLANTA – The SAA announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2017 spring term and a total of 1,033 student-athletes made the list. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.

  • Panthers Named to SAA All-Sportsmanship Teams

    ATLANTA – The Southern Athletic Association announced the 2017 Spring Sports All-Sportsmanship Teams and 79 student-athletes among the league’s eight full-time members received recognition. Formed in 2011, the SAA places a special emphasis on good sportsmanship and fair play among all competitors.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball placed four on American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Region teams after finishing the season 39-10 with a trip to the NCAA central regional final.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball saw four Panthers named to D3baseball.com All-South Region teams, the organization announced Tuesday. BSC finished its season in the central region championship with a 39-10 record.
  • NCAA Regionals: No. 6 BSC Falls in Extra Innings to North Central

    SAUGET, Ill. – The No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball team fell 3-2 Sunday to North Central College in the NCAA Sauget Regional Championship. The game went to the 11th inning before NCC put across the game winning run in a walk off walk.
  • NCAA Regionals: No. 6 Panthers in Regional Final, Split Day

    SAUGET, Ill. – No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball overcame an afternoon loss to advance to the NCAA Sauget Regional final. After falling to 5-0 to North Central College, the Panthers (39-9) pulled out the 6-1 semifinal win over Wartburg College to advance to their second regional final in three years.
  • NCAA Regionals: Late Rally Leads No. 6 Panthers to 6-4 Win

    SAUGET, Ill. – A late game rally helped propel the No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball team to its 6-4 second round win at the Sauget Regional of the NCAA Tournament over Webster University. BSC (38-8) will now face the winner of North Central College and Wartburg College in the regional semifinal on Saturday.
  • NCAA Regionals: No. 6 Panthers Open with 14-6 Win

    SAUGET, Ill. – No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball used a big seventh inning to secure the 14-6 win over Greenville College in game one of the NCAA Sauget Regional Thursday afternoon. BSC improved to 37-8 with the win and advances to the next round. They will play at 3:30 p.m.
  • NCAA Regional: Panthers Top Seed in Central Regional

    Washington University maintained a lock as the top team in the Central region and with the map's dictates, the NCAA placed South Region member Birmingham-Southern here as the top seeded team in the Sauget Regional. It is not common to see the top ranked team moved out of their region but geography made this choice necessary, as BSC was more than 500 miles from every other regional.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern athletics department announced the winners of its big awards and recognized the accomplishments of the student-athletes at its 2017 Athletic Awards Dinner Monday night in the Norton Great Hall on BSC’s campus.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 2 Birmingham-Southern baseball fell 8-7 to Rhodes College in game two of the Southern Athletic Association championship series Sunday afternoon. With the win, Rhodes forced a decisive game three.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 2 Birmingham-Southern baseball team came back and defeated Rhodes College 7-6 in dramatic fashion to take the 1-0 lead in the 2017 Southern Athletic Association championship series. The Panthers (36-6) had a walkoff sacrifice fly to end the game in the bottom of the ninth.
  • SAA Tournament: No. 3 Panthers on to Championship

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 3 Birmingham-Southern baseball will get a chance to defend its Southern Athletic Association tournament title after defeating Berry College 7-2 Monday evening on Striplin Field in the semifinals. As the number one seed, BSC (35-6) hosts the championship series May 6-7. Game times to be determined.
  • SAA Tournament: Weather Delays Completion of Semifinal

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southern Athletic Association Tournament semifinal game between No. 3 Birmingham-Southern and Berry College has been postponed due to inclement weather in the area. The game will resume from the bottom of the sixth inning tomorrow, May 1 at 6:15 p.m. to determine who advances to the conference championship series.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 3 Birmingham-Southern baseball team came back to defeat Berry College 6-3 Saturday morning in the first quarterfinal game of the 2017 Southern Athletic Association tournament. The Panthers (34-6) advance to the semifinal game Sunday where they will take on the winner of the second quarterfinal game at 1 p.m.
  • SAA Tournament: No. 3 Panthers Advance to Quarterfinals

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 3 Birmingham-Southern baseball advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2017 Southern Athletic Association Tournament Friday after a 7-5 win over Centre College on Striplin Field. BSC (33-6) will face Berry College on Saturday, April 29 at 11 a.m. to determine who plays in the semifinals.
  • Weisberg, Himic Earn Big SAA Honors

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern collected 12 Southern Athletic Association All-Conference honors Friday. Stephen Himic (Birmingham, Ala./Indian Springs HS) was named Pitcher of the Year and Head Coach Jan Weisberg earned Coach of the Year honors.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 4 Birmingham-Southern baseball held off a late rally by Sewanee Sunday to take the 7-6 win in the 10th inning. The game winner was scored on a walkoff hit by pitch with one out on the board. BSC (32-6, 19-2) has now won 16 of its last 17 games heading into the Southern Athletic Association tournament.
  • No. 4 Panthers Sweep Sewanee, 18-2 in SAA

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 4 Birmingham-Southern baseball team swept Sewanee Saturday in its Southern Athletic Association doubleheader to improve to 31-6 overall, 18-2 in conference play. This is the fourth consecutive year the Panthers have had 30+ win seasons, and the seventh under Head Coach Jan Weisberg.
  • No. 2 BSC Splits with Final Day With Millsaps

    JACKSON, Miss. – The No. 2 Birmingham-Southern baseball team moved to 29-6 overall after splitting with Millsaps College Saturday. The Panthers took game one 13-12, before falling 4-1 in the finale. BSC is now 16-2 against Southern Athletics Association opponents.

    JACKSON, Miss. – No. 2 Birmingham-Southern baseball clinched its fourth consecutive Southern Athletic Association regular season title Friday with an 11-3 road win over Millsaps College. BSC (28-5, 15-1 SAA) will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming tournament. They host the first rounds April 28-30.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 3 Birmingham-Southern baseball team completed the sweep of Berry College Sunday afternoon, with a 4-3 win on Striplin Field. The win moved the Panthers (27-5, 14-1 SAA) one step closer to clinching the regular season title.
  • No. 3 BSC Sweeps Berry College, Moves to 13-1 in League

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 3 Birmingham-Southern baseball swept Southern Athletic Association rival Berry College in a conference doubleheader Saturday that moved the Panthers one step closer to clinching the regular season title. BSC (26-5, 13-1 SAA) is currently in first place in the league with seven games left. The wins today secured the Panthers at least a No. 2 seed in the tournament they will host.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 5 Birmingham-Southern baseball shutout Rhodes College 1-0 and 10-0 in their Southern Athletic Association doubleheader Saturday on Striplin Field. BSC (22-5) improved to 10-1 in conference play to remain atop the standings.
