Panthers Shut Out Huntingdon 12-0

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern baseball team shut out the Huntingdon Hawks 12-0 on the road Tuesday night, improving to 16-13 on the season.

The Panthers run-ruled the Hawks, shortening the game to seven innings. BSC spread the runs out over the course of the game, but the biggest production came in the top of the sixth when the Panthers scored five runs.

Richie Misischia (Dothan, Ala./Regis HS), Paul Williamson (Mobile, Ala./St. Luke's Episcopal School) and Will Toner (Atlanta, Ga./Marist HS) had multiple hits in the game. Misischia led the team with three hits in four at-bats, scoring two runs.

Catcher A.J. Hunt (Memphis, Tenn./Memphis University School) also had a big impact on the outcome with four RBI.

Sophomore left-hander Hanan Mauldin (Florence, Ala./Florence HS) got the start in the game, pitching four innings, allowing just one hit and striking out four in a winning effort.

Right-hander Andy Hammond (Oxford, Ala./Oxford HS) and right-hander Will Evans (Peachtree City, Ga./Starrs Mill HS) came in in relief of Mauldin and completed the shutout effort.

Birmingham-Southern will host Centre in a weekend series April 7-8. The Panthers and Colonels will face off in a doubleheader on Saturday before coming back on Sunday for BSC's Senior Day.
