BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern College Athletics Director Kyndall Waters announced that head baseball coach Jan Weisberg has been promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Internal Relations. Weisberg will continue to be the head baseball coach while assuming his additional duties.
"This promotion is for recognition of responsibilities already undertaken by coach Weisberg," said Waters. "He's instrumental in his representation of Athletics across campus and in the community."
Weisberg has spent 11 seasons at BSC and amassed over 350 wins. Guiding the Panthers through the transition to NCAA Division III, his teams have won a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title, as well as, four Southern Athletic Association championships. Weisberg has had five players drafted with one currently playing in the Majors for the Oakland Athletics.
He is a three-time SAA Coach of the Year whose teams have produced 16 All-Americans, six consecutive SAA Pitchers of the Year, three academic All-Americans, a National Pitcher of the Year, and a National Player of the Year.
"Over the past few years, Jan has taken on additional administrative responsibilities including sitting on campus committees, and assisting in fundraising activities for the department," Waters added. "He will continue to assist in the visioning process and the advancement of our athletic program and the institution at large."
