Panthers Shutout at No. 4 Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Birmingham-Southern baseball team was shutout at No. 4 Trinity University on Saturday, falling to the Tigers 5-0.

The Panthers had six hits against Trinity but were unable to piece them together and get any run production.

Senior A.J. Hunt (Memphis, Tenn./Memphis University School) led BSC with two hits on the night.

Junior right-hander Andy Hammond (Oxford, Ala./Oxford HS) got the start on the mound for the Panthers. He pitched five innings, allowing five runs – four earned – off eight hits with a walk and three strikeouts.

Sophomore Adam Richards (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla./South Walton HS) finished out the game, throwing three innings and allowing just one hit with three strikeouts.

BSC and Trinity have split the first two games of the series. The rubber match will be played on Sunday, Feb. 17 at noon.
