Football picked to finish third in SCAC preseason poll

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern football team was voted to finish third in the SCAC preseason poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches.

The Panthers finished last season at 6-4 overall and 3-4 against SCAC opponents. BSC is a full NCAA Division III member this year, and will finally be able to compete for both SCAC and NCAA championships.

The Panthers led the league in scoring offense last season, averaging 34.6 points per game, and in rushing offense at 254 yards per contest.

BSC opens the season this Saturday on the road against LaGrange, and opens its home slate on Sept. 10 against Huntingdon at 1 p.m.

Millsaps was selected to finish first in the league, followed by Centre and BSC. For the full release at the SCAC web site, click here.
