BSC moves to 11th in AFCA Coaches' Poll, 15th in D3football.com Top 25
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—After a 49-21 win against Austin College on Saturday to remain undefeated at 5-0 on the season, Birmingham-Southern moved up to 11th in the nation in the American Football Coaches' Association (AFCA) Coaches' Poll and 15th in the D3football.com Top 25.
The Panthers were ranked 13th by the AFCA and 16th by D3football.com last week.
In the AFCA poll this week, BSC received 534 points, and the Panthers got 265 points in the D3football.com poll. Mount Union is ranked first in both polls; Birmingham-Southern is the only Southern Athletic Association member to be ranked in either poll, although Millsaps is receiving votes in the D3football.com voting.
BSC's opponent this weekend, Wesley College, is ranked sixth in the both polls with a record of 3-1. The Panthers travel to Dover, Del., to take on the Wolverines this Saturday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. Eastern.
