Five players earn All-SAA Football honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Headlined by senior Jarrett Hubbard and junior Austin Hansard earning First-Team honors, five Birmingham-Southern football players were named All-Southern Athletic Association, the league office announced today.

Hubbard, an offensive lineman from Covington, Ga., and Hansard, a linebacker from Cumming, Ga., were named First-Team Offense and Defense, respectively, in exclusive voting by the league's head coaches. Junior wide receiver Michael Cowan and junior defensive lineman Connor Shannon were named Second-Team All-SAA, and senior linebacker Cameron Budzius earned an Honorable Mention nod.

It was Hansard's second straight year earning First-Team honors; he led the team with 62 total tackles (41 solo, 21 assisted) and also had three interceptions and two fumble recoveries. The Panthers went 5-4 this past season.
