BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern senior Ryder Andrews (Homewood, Ala./Homewood HS) was named the Southern Athletic Association Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Andrews was perfect in the Panthers' 34-17 win over Millsaps. He was 4-for-4 in point after kicks and went 2-for-2 in field goals. Andrews broke his previous program record by drilling a 52-yarder to open scoring in the first quarter. He also had three punts for 126 yards, a 42-yard average with a long of 46. Finally, Andrews had seven kickoffs for 399 yards, a 57 yard average, with one touchback.
