Birmingham-Southern ranked 19th in latest D3hoops.com poll

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team is ranked 19th in this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.

The Panthers are 12-1 on the season and 4-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play, putting them at the top of the East Division standings. BSC has won five straight games heading into this weekend's road contests against Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and Trinity University in San Antonio.

The Panthers have also won 37 straight home games in Bill Battle Coliseum, a streak dating back to the end of the 2008-09 season when the last home loss was against Centre on Feb. 8, 2009.

BSC is back at home on Friday, Jan. 20, and Saturday, Jan. 21, when they will face Austin College and University of Dallas. The Panthers are also set to host the 2012 SCAC Basketball Championship this year, Feb. 24-26.
