
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Junior Larry Thomas has been named the Southern Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced today.
Thomas, a guard from Atlanta, had a career night on Sunday against Millsaps, with career highs in points (33) and rebounds (12) in the Panthers' win against the Majors. He shot 11-of-15 from the field including 5-of-6 from three-point range, and was 6-of-6 at the free throw line. Thomas also led all players with his career-high 12 rebounds, and recorded three steals, an assist, and a block in the big win.
Thomas and the Panthers (4-1, 1-0 SAA) return to action Dec. 13, facing Covenant College on the road in Lookout Mountain, Ga., but return home to host in-state rival Huntingdon Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. in Bill Battle Coliseum.
