MARIETTA, Ohio – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team lost to Wittenberg 86-63 in its last game of the Great Lakes Invitational on Saturday.
The Panthers and the Tigers played a close game early but BSC was never able to overcome the deficit after Wittenberg's 12-0 run midway through the first half. That run gave the Tigers a 30-15 lead with around 10 minutes to play before halftime.
Birmingham-Southern's top scorer was junior forward Matty Rudak (Augustow, Poland/Millbrook School/Kinsale Community School) who had 11 points. Junior point guard Zach Allison (Pelham, Ala./Wallace State) scored 10 points and had three assists. Rudak, sophomore guard Kaden Moore (Gadsden, Ala./Hokes Bluff HS) and freshman forward Ben Spence (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) led in rebounds with five each.
The loss drops the Panthers to 1-2 on the year.
Birmingham-Southern's next game will be at Covenant on Tuesday, Nov. 21 with tipoff at 5:30 p.m. ET.
