Panthers Stumble Against Centre, Fall 91-57

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team dropped its home game to Centre College 91-57 on Friday night, falling to 9-12 overall and 6-4 in the Southern Athletic Association.

Senior Harrison Deneka (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) led the Panthers with a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double, his 10th of the season.

Birmingham-Southern trailed by just eight points at the break, 45-37, but the Panthers shooting went cold in the second half. In the final 20 minutes, BSC was outscored 46-20, hitting just one three-pointer on 10 attempts and were 7-of-25 from the field.

The Panthers will look to rebound from the loss in their next game on Sunday, Feb. 4. Birmingham-Southern will host the Sewanee Tigers in the game, its final home game of the regular season. The game will also serve as Senior Day for the Panthers; Harrison Deneka and J. Morgan Harter (Memphis, Tenn./Texas Tech) will be honored during pre-game. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m.
