ATLANTA – Birmingham-Southern men's basketball student-athlete Calvin Bak (Muscle Shoals, Ala./Muscle Shoals HS) was named the Southern Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Bak scored a career-high 27 points against Pensacola Christian last Tuesday, leading the Panthers to a 91-82 road win over the Eagles. The junior guard was 10-of-16 from the field, including 7-of-11 from beyond the three-point line. Bak also added two assists, three rebounds and three steals in the game.
For the season, Bak is averaging 12.4 points per game, ranking ninth among all SAA student-athletes.
Birmingham-Southern will be back in action at home against Wesley in the opening game of the BSC Black Tie Classic on Thursday, Dec. 13. Tipoff for the game is set for 7 p.m.
