MADISON, Miss.—In its last tournament of the fall season, the Birmingham-Southern men's golf team placed fifth at the Millsaps Collegiate, played at the Colonial Country Club in Madison, Miss.
The Panthers scored 629 overall, five strokes behind Murray State Community College, six strokes behind William Carey, and seven strokes behind Centenary. The host Majors won the tournament with a team score of 588.
Freshman Tyler Shope was BSC's top finisher, placing ninth with a two-round total of 154 (79-75). Junior Phillip Brol was 12th with 155 (81-74), junior Michael Wallace was 17th with 159 (76-83), junior Daniel Morris was 24th with 161 (78-83), and freshman Spencer Honey was 58th with 174 (83-91).
The Panthers open spring action on Feb. 18 at the Wynlakes Wynternationals, hosted by Huntingdon at the Wynlakes Country Club in Montgomery, Ala.
