Men's Golf finishes 14th at Rhodes Fall Classic
TUNICA, Miss.—The Birmingham-Southern men's golf team finished the Rhodes Fall Classic on Monday, placing 14th in the field of 20 teams.
The Panthers carded a team score of 304 today, two strokes better than yesterday, for a total of 610, two strokes behind Millsaps. Freshman Patrick Newsom shot 71 today for a two-round total of 145, putting him at sixth place individually. Freshman Nick Vick shot 76 today for a total of 152, followed by senior Michael Wallace with 79 today for a total of 154, senior Daniel Morris with 159 (81-78), and senior Phillip Brol with 165 (84-81).
Rhodes hung onto the lead to win with a team score of 587, followed by No. 12 Wittenberg with 590 and Texas-Tyler with 591. No. 1 Oglethorpe's Anthony Maccaglia won the individual crown after shooting 66 yesterday and 73 today.
The Panthers are back in action on Sept. 30 at the Chick-fil-a Invitational at Coosa Country Club in Rome, Ga.
