MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern men's golf team placed 11th out of 16 teams at the Rhodes College Spring Classic on Monday and Tuesday.
The Panthers kept the 11th place spot throughout the tournament, ending each round in that position. BSC shots rounds of 303 and 298 on day one and capped the tournament with a round of 300 on Tuesday.
BSC's top individual competitor was junior Thomas Iturbe (Mobile, Ala./UMS-Wright Prep), who finished tied for 32nd place. Iturbe improved his scoring in every round, shooting 76, 73 and then a 72 in round three. He finished the tournament at five-over par.

Birmingham-Southern will compete in the Southern Athletic Association Championship tournament next. The championships will be at the Greystone Golf Course in Dickson, Tenn., April 25-28.
