SUWANEE, Ga.—Seniors Jacob McPherson and Chris Clarke have been selected the SCAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 19, through Sunday, March 35, the league office announced today.
The Panthers went 2-0 this week in two road conference games, defeating Southwestern on Friday, 17-4, and Dallas on Sunday, 23-6.
McPherson, a midfielder from Katy, Texas, led the team on the week with 18 points, recording seven goals and 11 assists. Against Southwestern, he posted two goals and four assists, as well as a ground ball and a caused turnovers. Against Dallas, he led with five goals (including the game-winner) and seven assists, and also had three ground balls and another caused turnover. For the week he had a .917 shot-on-goal percentage.
Clarke, a long stick midfielder from Decatur, Ga., recorded nine ground balls and five caused turnovers against Southwestern, and six ground balls and one caused turnover against Dallas. He also scored twice in the win against Dallas, and was 5-of-7 on face-offs for the week.
The BSC men's lacrosse team is in action at home this weekend, taking on Colorado College on Friday at 6 p.m. and Hendrix College on Sunday at 1 p.m.
