BSC Loses Road Battle at Southern Virginia

BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team fell to Southern Virginia 11-8 on Saturday afternoon, dropping to 2-2 on the season.

After falling down 4-0 in the first quarter, the Panthers rebounded with five goals in the second to cut Southern Virginia's lead to 6-5 at halftime.

In the third, the Panthers scored the lone goal and tied up the game 6-6, but the Knights outscored BSC in the final 15 minutes 5-2 to win the game 11-8.

Peyton Taylor (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) led the Panthers in the loss with three goals.

Senior goalkeeper Matt Quill (Fort Mills, S.C./Coker College) got the start and played all 60 minutes, finishing the game with 14 saves.

Birmingham-Southern will return to the Hilltop for its next game against Huntingdon on Saturday, March 2 at 1 p.m.
