Panthers Fall to Rhodes in SAA Opener

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team lost to Rhodes College 15-3 in its Southern Athletic Association-opening contest on Wednesday night.

Senior Davis Thompson (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes HS) scored two of BSC's three goals with sophomore Carter Watkins (Charlotte, N.C./Adrey Kell HS) scoring the other.

Senior goalie Matt Quill (Fort Mills, S.C./Coker College) played most of the game, recording 11 saves in the loss.

With the defeat, the Panthers drop to 5-5 overall and 0-1 in the SAA.

Birmingham-Southern will remain on the road for its next game, another conference contest at Centre College on Friday, March 29 at 7 p.m. ET.
