BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—A goal from junior Claudio Lipp in the 107th minute lifted the Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team to a 2-1 win against Millsaps, Saturday evening at Preston Goldfarb Field.

The Panthers move to 7-1-1 and the Majors fall to 6-5; it was the Southern Athletic Association opener for both teams.

Millsaps opened the game's scoring in the very first minute of play when Alex Bourland scored only 33 seconds in. The lead held until nearly the end of the game, when Lipp scored off an assist from junior Bastian Jedliczka in the 87th minute to tie it up 1-1, sending the game to overtime.

The first overtime period was scoreless, and with three minutes remaining in the second overtime, Lipp and Jedliczka teamed up again for the game-winner.

Sophomore goalkeeper Louis Fagelson recorded seven saves for the Panthers. Shots were nearly even, 14-13 in favor of Millsaps, but BSC took six corner kicks to the Majors' two.

The Panthers are on the road next weekend, traveling to face Rhodes Saturday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m.
