BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Sophomore Tylan Jones has been named the Southern Athletic Association Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today.
Jones, a left back from Peachtree City, Ga., was instrumental this week in helping BSC shut out both of its opponents. The Panthers defeated Centre 1-0 in double overtime Friday, followed by a 1-0 win over Sewanee on Sunday. BSC's goal on Sunday was a penalty kick, with Jones helping to create the play that led to the foul inside the box.
The Panthers moved to 11-2-2 on the year with this weekend's two wins, which wrapped up regular season home action. BSC faces Emory this Wednesday in Atlanta and then finishes regular season action on Saturday against Hendrix in Conway, Ark.
