Five Panthers Named to BSC Labor Day Classic All-Tournament Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern College Men's Soccer hosted the annual BSC Labor Day Classic on September 1 and 2. The competing teams in the tournament were Birmingham-Southern College, Guilford College (Greensboro, N.C.), Randolph College (Lynchburg, Va.), and Sewanee (Tenn.). 

The first day of action resulted in Sewanee defeating Guilford 1-0 and BSC winning over Randolph 2-1.  Day two saw Randolph beating Sewanee 4-2 and BSC defeating Guilford 3-0. Following the event, 12 players were selected to represent their schools on the All-Tournament Team.

BSC had five players selected to the team: Senior forward Adam Clausen, junior goalkeeper Galen Curry, junior defender Luke Hambleton, sophomore midfielder Ryan Hepp and senior forward Trey O'Bryant.

Hepp and Clausen scored two goals each. Hepp's brace came in a 2-1 win over Randolph, while Clausen scored both of his goals in the 3-0 shutout of Guilford. O'Bryant added to the offensive pressure with three shots-on-goal.

On the defensive side, Curry and Hambleton worked to see BSC give up just one goal over the weekend. Curry finished the tournament with 11 saves.
