BSC Suffers First Loss of Season to Transylvania

ROME, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday morning, falling to the Transylvania University Pioneers 1-0 in the opening game of the 2017 Berry Invitational.

Transylvania's Griffin Lamb scored the lone goal of the match in the 40th minute. The Pioneers outshot the Panthers 12-10, and BSC was only able to manage two shots on goal in the game.

The loss moves BSC to 3-1 on the season. The Panthers will look to rebound on Sunday in their game against Hampden-Sydney, the second of their two tournament games. Kickoff for the game against Hampden-Sydney is set for 11:00 A.M. EDT.
