BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team fell to Talladega College 1-0 on Tuesday night, dropping the Panthers to 10-5-2 on the season.
It took two overtime periods to decide the winner, but Talladega's Calixte Valeus found the game-winner in 108th minute with a goal kicked into the left side of BSC's net.
The two teams combined for 43 total shots in the game with 30 coming from the visiting Tornadoes. Junior midfielder Brother Swagler (Homewood, Ala./Homewood HS) led BSC with four shots and one on goal.
Junior goalkeeper Kurt Moore (Euharlee, Ga./Darlington School) recorded 13 saves for the Panthers.
The loss comes in BSC's regular season finale. The Panthers next match will be in the quarterfinal round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 27. Birmingham-Southern, the No. 4 seed, will host the fifth-seeded Berry College Vikings at Goldfarb Field with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
