NASHVILLE, Tenn.—The Birmingham-Southern cross county teams competed at the Vanderbilt Invitational this weekend.
The Panther women finished 17th, and the men were 19th, both in fields of several Division I and II teams.
Junior Jessica Thornton was the top finisher on the women's side with a 5K time of 19:48.80, while junior Robert Willett was the top men's finisher with an 8K time of 27:36.90.
"We had some solid performances by some of our men and women, and I am very proud of their efforts," Head Coach Kenneth Cox said. "It was a big meet and was just the right environment for our second competitive meet of the season. There were a number of collegiate personal bests that we look forward to building on throughout the year."
BSC is in action next at the Tiger Twilight Invitational, hosted by Sewanee in Sewanee, Tenn., on Sept. 30.
