OXFORD, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's cross country team placed 15th at the Jacksonville State Foothills Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.
As a team, the Panthers finished the 8k race in an average time of 31:03.98.
Sophomore Beck Wilkes (Winfield, Ala./Winfield HS) was BSC's top runner at the event, finishing the 8k in 29:03.5 to place 89th overall. Freshman Tony Parisi (Marietta, Ga./Pope HS) was two spots behind Wilkes, finishing in 29:12.3.
Sophomore Griffin Riner (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS), senior Raleigh Schmidt (Madison, Ala./James Clemens HS) and freshman Carl Albright (Mountain Brook, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) also competed in the event for the Panthers.
Birmingham-Southern's next meet will be the UAB Blazer Classic on Friday, Oct. 18. The UAB event will be the final race before the Southern Athletic Association Championship.
