BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Junior Bethany Fronk has been named the Southern Athletic Association Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played March 17-23, the league office announced today.
Fronk, a right-hander from Clay, Ala., went 4-0 in the circle this week and made five appearances, helping BSC go 6-0. She threw two complete games with one shutout and one save, recording a 1.03 ERA. Fronk threw 20.1 innings and gave up 19 hits and three earned runs with 14 strikeouts and a .238 opponent batting average. She was also an offensive/defensive dual threat for the Panthers, batting .368 with six RBI to help BSC sweep Centre and take three of four games from Millsaps.
The Panthers are on the road this weekend, stepping out of conference play to face Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Ga., in a 2 p.m. ET doubleheader this Saturday, March 29.
