MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Birmingham-Southern softball pulled out two wins on the road at Maryville College Wednesday afternoon. BSC (20-5) won 2-1 and 1-0 to extend their win streak to seven.
Four Panthers finished with two hits on the day led by Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) who went 2-for-3 with a double. Jessica Perley (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia HS) pitched a complete game shutout win. She allowed just three hits and struck out seven in a full seven innings of work. Crumpton earned the game one win after striking out a team-best 13 batters and giving up just one run.
BSC returns home to the Hilltop to face No. 13 Berry College in a Southern Athletic Association showdown. The Panthers currently sit in third place in the league and taking the series away the defending champion would put them in a great position as they head deeper in the conference play. Game one is set for Saturday, March 30 at noon.
