BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern softball catapulted into the national rankings this week. BSC (23-5) is now No. 20 in the country as voted on by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. This is the third time in four years BSC has crashed into the top 20.
The Panthers are riding a 10-game win streak after upsetting former No. 13, and Southern Athletic Association rival, Berry College in a three-game sweep. They currently rank nationally as a team in 14 categories, including fifth in fielding percentage and sixth in shutouts.
BSC returns to action this weekend in another SAA matchup. They face Hendrix College at home April 6-7 at BSC Softball Park. First pitch on both days is set for noon.
