Perfect Game Paces No. 18 Panthers' WIns

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) struck out 10 en route to a perfect game Saturday to open the Panthers two-game sweep of Southern Athletic Association rival Millsaps College.  BSC (30-6, 12-2 SAA) won 10-0 in five innings and then 1-0 in game two.

 

Annie Clayton (Eufaula, Ala./Eufaula HS) led the Panthers offense.  She went 3-for-5 including a home run and a double, with two runs and two RBI.  Crumpton and Kendell Hamm (Adamsville, Ala./Sumitron Christian HS) finished with two hits each.  Jessica Perley (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia HS) struck out six in her complete game shutout win.

 

BSC ends the series and their home season tomorrow.  First pitch is set for noon.

 

SENIOR DAY

It was senior day on the Hilltop and BSC softball recognized the six young women graduating this spring. 

Haley Crumpton
A three-time all-region and three-time first-team all-conference selection, Crumpton also earned All-America honors in her career.  She has been named to the SAA academic honor roll twice.  Her favorite BSC moment was during a trip to a tournament in Arizona.  She plans to graduate with a degree in psychology.

Kendell Hamm
A member of two academic honor societies, Hamm also belongs to the student-athlete advisory committee.  She has earned SAA academic honor roll twice, is a two-time SAA sportsmanship award winner, and earned all-conference honors last year.  Her favorite BSC moment is when they got to play hacky sack at practice.  She plans to graduate with a degree in urban environmental studies.

Jojo Johnston
Johnston earned second-team all-conference honors last year.  Her favorite BSC moment was having fun during a layover on the way to their Arizona tournament.  She plans to graduate with a degree in business and with a marketing minor.

Kolyn Kyser
Kyser was named to the SAA academic honor roll, and earned all-conference honors during her career.  Her favorite BSC moment was passing her last conditioning test ever.  She plans to graduate with a degree in psychology.

Savannah Lee
Lee is a member of Alphi Chi Omega, and has served as their VP of membership programming for three years.  She belongs to the student-athlete advisory committee and Sigma Alpha Pi.  A three-time SAA academic honor roll member, Lee has made Dean's List twice.  On the diamond, she is a two-time All-American, three-time all-region and all-conference selection, and two-time NCAA statistical champion.  She plans to graduate with a degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing.

Abby Spencer
Spencer is a member of two academic honor societies, has heard Dean's List three times, and was a NFCA Academic All-American.  She is also a three-time all-conference selection.  Her favorite BSC moment is the team singing karaoke on road trips and all the laughs that come with it.  She plans to graduate with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry.
