BSC Swimming And Diving Continues To Have Success At SAA Championships
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Cody Spradlin and Duncan Bonney added two more Southern Athletic Association individual titles while claiming the men's 800 freestyle relay championship on Friday at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The Panthers now have seven overall individual and relay titles through two days.
Bonney swam a 56.79 to win the men's 100-yard breaststroke and then teamed with Drew Priede, Saul Hack and Wil Cushman to win the men's 800 freestyle relay with a 6:56.42. Cody Spradlin totaled 388 points to win the men's 1-meter diving title earlier in the day.
Five Panthers also claimed silver medals on the day. Saul Hack finished second in the men's 100-yard butterfly with a 52.04 followed by Cushman turning in a 1:44.39 in the 200-yard freestyle. Priede sprinted to a 52.67 in the 100 backstroke and Hannah Busk clocked a 58.61 in the women's 100-yard backstroke.
Busk, Kristen Stempak, Molly Waddell and Peyton Langley claimed second in the women's 200-yard medley relay.
Centre College leads the women's team standings 578 points followed by Sewanee with 522. Rhodes is third with 486 points and Birmingham-Southern is fourth with 366 points
Sewanee has 571 points to lead the men's standings followed by Centre with 559 points. Berry is third with 460 points and BSC with 421 points.
