Swimming and Diving results from West Florida Spring Quad Meet
PENSACOLA, Fla.—The Birmingham-Southern men went 2-1 and the women went 2-2 on Saturday in the regular season finale, competing at the West Florida spring quad meet at the UWF Aquatic Center in Pensacola, Fla.
The Panthers are done with their regular season and now prepare for the 2014 Southern Athletic Association Championship, Feb. 12-15, hosted by Hendrix College at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The BSC men defeated Thomas University and LaGrange College but lost to No. 14 Delta State, and the women also defeated Thomas and LaGrange but fell to No. 21 West Florida and No. 8 Delta State, both NCAA Division II squads.
Highlights included senior diver Cody Spradlin winning the 3-meter, and sophomore swimmer Duncan Bonney placing second in the 100 breast and 100 free. Sophomore Wil Cushman was also second in the 1000 free, sophomore Drew Priede was third in the 200 free, and freshman Scott Taylor was third in the 100 back. On the women's side, sophomore Hannah Busk placed third in the 100 back.
