INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Sophomore Duncan Bonney became Birmingham-Southern's first NCAA All-American swimmer this week, earning Honorable Mention All-America honors in two events at the 2014 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship, hosted by IUPUI in Indianapolis, Ind.
After winning seven individual titles at the 2014 Southern Athletic Association Championship back in February, Bonney qualified for the Championship in three events. He competed in the 200-yard individual medley, 100-yard breaststroke, and 200-yard breaststroke. On Wednesday, March 19, he placed 12th in the 200 IM, and was 10th on Friday in the 100 breast, earning Honorable Mention All-America honors in both events. On Saturday he was 20th in the 200 breast preliminaries.
