NCAA Championships: BSC Wraps Up Day Three of Competition

INDIANAPOLIS – The Birmingham-Southern swimming team wrapped up day three of the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National Championships with two individuals and two relay teams competing on Friday.

Sophomore Noah Young (Clinton, Miss./Clinton HS) competed in the 100-yard backstroke preliminaries, placing 34th with a time of 52.35.

Sophomore Becca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS) was next, swimming in the 100 breaststroke. She finished 20th in the prelims with a mark of 1:04.65.

The Panthers concluded the morning session with the men's and women's relay teams participating in the 800 freestyle relay finals. The men's team finished in eighth with a time of 6:47.76. The women came in 15th with a 7:43.81 time.

Birmingham-Southern will continue competition on the fourth and final day of the championships on Saturday. The Panthers will see action in the men's 1650 freestyle, the men's 200 backstroke, the women's 100 freestyle and the men's and women's 400 freestyle relay.
