GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Birmingham-Southern competed at the 2019 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday.
Four BSC student-athletes – Becca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS), Anna Jordan Luth (Pensacola, Fla./Booker T. Washington HS), Mary Beth Ronne (Athens, Tenn./McMinn County HS) and Mary Katherine Stewart (Daphne, Ala./Daphne HS) – competed as a team in the women's 800-yard freestyle relay on Friday morning.
The Panthers finished 11th overall in the nation in the timed final event, completing the relay in a new program record time of 7:32.86. The finish gave Erwin, Luth, Ronne and Stewart Honorable Mention All-American honors.
Birmingham-Southern will wrap up the NCAA Championships on Saturday when Erwin competes in her final individual event, the 100-yard freestyle. She will race in Saturday's prelims for a spot in Saturday night's championship heat.
