SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed at SCAD on Saturday afternoon.
Both BSC squads were defeated by the Bees in the dual. The men fell by a score of 197-64 while the women lost 189-73.
Freshman Mary Miller Goldberg (Memphis, Tenn./St. George's Independent School) was the lone Panther to secure a first-place finish at the meet, grabbing first in the women's 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:11.26.
Other notable finishes were two second-place performances by sophomore Mary Katherine Stewart (Daphne, Ala./Daphne HS) in the women's 100-yard backstroke and the women's 500-yard freestyle. Senior Nico Medina (Davie, Fla./American Heritage HS) also came in second place in the men's 500-yard freestyle.
Birmingham-Southern's next meet will be at Montevallo on Friday, Nov. 8.
