Panthers Earn 15 USTFCCCA All-Region Nods

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's track and field teams combined for 15 South/Southeast All-Region honors, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Monday. 


The men led the way with 10 selections, three of which belonged to Jamal Watkins (Hampton, Ga./Dodge City CC).  He earned all-region honors for the 100, 200, and 4x100 relay.  With Watkins receiving recognition on the 4x100 relay team were Jalon Hollie (Hoover, Ala./Spain Park HS), Damian Mitchell (Maplesville, Ala./Maplesville HS), and Amir Sims (Orlando, Fla./Union Grove HS).


Timothy McOmber (Montgomery, Ala./Montgomery Catholic Prep) earned all-region for the steeplechase, while Chris Roberts (Huntsville, Ala./Huntsville HS) earned all-region in the 5K.  And in the field, Kameren Morgan (Bowie, Md./St. Alban's School for Boys) was recognized in hammer throw and Michael Snow (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS) for shot put.


On the women's side, the 4x100 relay team of Erin Davis (Orange County, Calif./Santa Ana Valley HS), Jothani Dixon (Tuscumbia, Ala./Dreschler HS), Deja Hulbert (Lithonia, Ga./Marist HS), and Karmin Shute (Fayetteville, Ga./The Walker School) received all-region honors.  Shute was also recognized for her performance in the 400.
