MARYVILLE, Tenn.—The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team took to the road Sunday, losing to Maryville College 73-39.
The Panthers fell to 5-3, while the Scots moved to 5-1.
BSC scored the first basket of the game which would turn out to be the only lead for the Panthers, who struggled offensively and were out-scored by Maryville 37-16 in the first half.
The Scots maintained a large lead throughout the second half as well, going up by as much as 38, 73-35, with 3:11 left before winning 73-39.
Sophomore Breanne DeBaets led the Panthers with 10 points and was the only player in double figures. Sophomore Laura Van Peursem led with five rebounds, and sophomore Jothani Dixon led with three assists.
The Panthers are back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 16, traveling to face Huntingdon in Montgomery at 5:30 p.m.
