Comeback Falls Short in 55-51 Road Loss

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team's comeback fell short Friday night as the Panthers dropped their road game 55-51 against Huntingdon College.

Elizabeth Philpot (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) earned her second double-double of the season off a game and career-high 19 points with a game-high 11 rebounds.  Philpot hit a career-best 11-of-12 free throws to lead the Panthers.  Emilee Olsen (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS) also had a double-double.  She finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds, respectively.

The Panthers tied the game with 1:29 to play, but were unable to score on their next two possessions.  Huntingdon pulled away in the final seconds to earn the win.

BSC heads to the Oglethorpe Tournament next where they will face Emory & Henry College and Centenary College of Louisiana.  The tournament runs December 18-19 in Atlanta, Ga. and ends a four-game road trip for BSC.
