BSC Stops Skid with 77-69 Win over Centenary (La.)

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball topped Centenary College (La.) 77-69 Tuesday afternoon to close out play at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Classic.  The Panthers (4-5) held off a late push from Centenary to earn the win.

 

Elizabeth Philpot (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) led all scorers with a career-high 21 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.  Her performance earned a spot on the All-Classic Team.  Freshmen guards Misa Fujii (Sunnyvale, Calif./Notre Dame) and Leah Middleton (Decatur, Ga./St. Pius X HS) also hit double-figures with 15 points each. And Kaitlin Hogan (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points of her own, respectively.

 

The Panthers finally return home on Thursday, Dec. 28 after spending nearly four weeks on the road.  They take on Worcester State University at 1 p.m. in Bill Battle Coliseum.
