Panthers Fend off Lynx in Comeback Win

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team pulled out its second straight Southern Athletic Association win on the road Friday night, topping Rhodes College 59-55.

The Panthers (5-10, 2-2 SAA) outscored Rhodes 17-8 in the third quarter to take the lead after trailing at the half.  But a late rally from Rhodes put the game tied with three minutes to play.  BSC used a 9-2 run going into the final minute to push ahead for the final time.

Three Panthers finished in double-figures led by Emilee Olsen (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS), who earned a team-high 14 points.  Aisya Davis (Powder Springs, Ga./Hillgrove HS) was right behind her with 13 points, and Christian McGowan (Birmingham, Ala./Oak Mountain HS) finished with 10 points, respectively.

BSC remains on the road.  They face Hendrix College on Sunday afternoon.  Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
