Women's Golf places 17th at Jekyll Island Collegiate

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga.—Playing in a field featuring nine top-25 opponents, the Birmingham-Southern women's golf team finished 17th this weekend at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational at Indian Mound Golf Course in Jekyll Island, Ga.

BSC shot 1064 (348-355-361), led by senior Ellen Chun with 247 (80-86-81), finishing 34th.

"I am very proud of the women's team and their efforts here at Jekyll," Head Coach Jason DeJiacomo said. "They played a tough course and in some windy conditions that progressively got worse each day. With the help of our volunteer assistant, Jordan Hardy, this team was able to pull together and put up some good numbers. We are very appreciative of Jordan's help this past week."

No. 15 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps won the tournament with a team score of 943 (327-314-302), and No. 4 Texas-Tyler's Laura Lindsey won the individual crown with 223 (79-68-76).

The team is back in action April 5-6 at the Callaway Collegiate at Lake View Golf Course at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga.
