ROME, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern women's golf team finished 10th out of 14 teams at the 2017 Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday.
The Panthers shot a 672 as a team to finish 96 over par. BSC shot 338 in round one and improved in the second round to shoot a 334.
Birmingham-Southern was led by senior Drew McDonagh (Germantown, Tenn./Hutchison School) and freshman Alexis Chambers (Fort Payne, Ala./Fort Payne HS), who both tied for 25th and shot 162 to finish 18 over par. McDonagh shot 81 in each of her two rounds while Chambers shot 83 in round one and improved with a 79 in her second round.
The Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational was the last tournament for the Panthers this fall. To this point, BSC has also finished third, fifth and 12th in three other tournaments. The Panthers also have a match play win over Rhodes to their credit.
Birmingham-Southern's next tournament will be the Callaway Gardens Collegiate at the Callaway Gardens Resort in Pine Mountain, Ga. on March 4-6, 2018.
