Moon Leads BSC at Callaway Gardens

PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern women's golf team finished tied for fifth at the rain-shortened Callaway Gardens Intercollegiate on Tuesday.

Rain showers forced the competition in the second and final round to end early. Monday's first-round scores were the only ones counted.

Junior Sarah Moon (Cordova, Tenn./St. George's Independent School) led the Panthers with a round-one 72 to finish one under par. Moon placed fourth overall for the tournament, good enough to earn her a spot on the all-tournament team.

Senior Drew McDonagh (Germantown, Tenn./Hutchison School) finished seven over par with an 80, while sophomore Sarah Posey (Covington, Tenn./First Assembly Christian School) ended the tournament at nine over.

Freshman Alexis Chambers (Ft. Payne, Ala./Ft. Payne HS) and sophomore Madison Dalton (Canton, Ga./Woodstock HS) finished 10-over and 13-over, respectively.

Birmingham-Southern's next tournament will be the Jekyll Island Collegiate, hosted by Oglethorpe University on March 15-18. The tournament will be held at Pine Lakes Golf Course in Jekyll Island, Ga.
