Women's Golf Places 15th at Jekyll Island

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern women's golf team finished 15th out of 23 teams at the 2018 Jekyll Island Collegiate on Sunday.

The Panthers started the three-round tournament on Friday with a first-round 333 team score. They improved their scores in the following rounds, shooting 329 on Saturday and 327 on Sunday.

Junior Sarah Moon (Cordova, Tenn./St. George's Independent School), the No. 29-ranked golfer in Division III, led the Panthers through the weekend, shooting a three-round 242 to finish tied for 46th.

Freshman Alexis Chambers (Ft. Payne, Ala./Ft. Payne HS) and sophomore Sarah Posey (Covington, Tenn./First Assembly Christian School) also finished in the top 75. Chambers finished tied for 55th at 31-over par while Posey tied for 73rd at 36-over.

Birmingham-Southern's next tournament will be at the Washington University Spring Invite in St. Louis, Mo. April 7-8.
