DICKSON, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern women's golf team tied for fourth at the Sewanee Spring Invitational at the Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn., on Monday.
The Panthers shot 58-over, 642 as a team at the tournament, improving 20 shots from round one to round two.
BSC had two golfers finish in the top 10. Junior Sarah Moon (Cordova, Tenn./St. George's Independent School) led the Panthers at eight-over par, putting her in a tie for third place. She earned All-Tournament Team honors.
Moon was one of the tournament's biggest movers during the tournament, improving from 18th after round one to finish inside the top five. In her final round, she eagled hole No. 8 and added three birdies to finish one-under for the day.
And at 12-over par, freshman Emma Phillips (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood HS) tied for ninth place overall. Phillips also improved her ranking, moving up from 11th place after day one to get into the top 10.
The Sewanee Spring Invitational was the last tournament for Birmingham-Southern before the start of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament on April 19. The conference championship tournament will be played at the same course at the Greystone Golf Club.
