MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's golf team finished fifth at the 2018 Montgomery County Club Women's Intercollegiate on Sunday, shooting a 630 as a team in two rounds.
The Panthers were led by senior Sarah Moon (Cordova, Tenn./St. George's Independent School), who shot rounds of 77 and 79 to finish 12-over par for the tournament. She tied for 18th place.
Sophomore Emma Phillips (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood HS) and junior Madison Dalton (Canton, Ga./Woodstock HS) finished inside the top 25 alongside Moon. Phillips, who tied for 20th, shot a 78 in round one and followed it up with a 79 on Sunday to finish 13-over. Dalton placed 23rd with rounds of 81 and 78.
Junior Sarah Posey (Covington, Tenn./First Assembly Christian School), who led the Panthers after the first round, shot a 75 on day one and then 86 on day two. She ended her tournament tied for 26th.
As a team, BSC finished the first round in fourth place and dropped to fifth after the final round.
Birmingham-Southern's next tournament will be at the D3 National Preview Invitational in Houston, Texas, on Sept. 23-25.
