SARASOTA, Fla. – The Birmingham-Southern women's golf team finished in ninth place at the 2018 Golfweek Division III Fall Invite on Tuesday afternoon.
As a team, the Panthers finished at 93-over par, shooting a 957 total in the three-day, three-round tournament.
Junior Sarah Posey (Covington, Tenn./First Assembly Christian School) was BSC's top golfer at the tournament, shooting a three-round 235 to finish 19-over and tied for 17th.
Sophomore Emma Phillips (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood HS) also finished in the top 25, tying for 22nd and shooting 22-over.
Birmingham-Southern ended round one in fifth place but improved its team score by three strokes in the second round to move up to fourth place. However, in the final round, the Panthers dropped nine strokes from the previous day to end in ninth place.
Birmingham-Southern's final tournament of the fall will be the Berry/Chick-fil-A Invitational at Coosa Country Club in Rome, Ga., on Oct. 21-23.
